Tree Planting on the Blackwater

As part of the Phase 1 Blackwater Catchment river improvement works, a range of tree planting has been completed to provide buffer strips alongside the river. 1500 saplings have been planted; species used include a 2-5 year old mix of Whitethorn, Crab Apple, Downey & Silver Birch, Scots Pine, Spindle, Oak, Blackthorn Cherry, Rowan, Guelder Rose, Hazel, Sycamore, Horse Chestnut.
